Game Overview
Flipper Facility is a 2D Puzzle Platformer about an explorer who gets trapped inside an abandoned facility. Inside, the player encounters special mirrors that reflect and flip the rooms they occupy, enabling complex platforming and out-of-the-box solutions.
Design Process
By all accounts, this was the first game I created in a game engine like Godot, so I started simple with a 2D Platformer where the rooms flipped on the player
The gameplay was developed first as the platforming had to feel good for the player
Next came the look of the game, which was heavily inspired by similar games like Celeste and Portal
A big challenge was having to learn the entire game development workflow for art, assets, gameplay, etc. in one month while making the game look and feel good to play
